A native of Mainland China, Jessa Jieyu Xiao began her musical training including piano, singing, and dancing at the age of 5. She received her master of music degree from Mannes School of Music and her bachelor of music degree from Peabody Conservatory.
With years of teaching experience, Ms. Xiao has taught students from age of 3 and up using a variety of method books. In addition she has also taught group piano classes, ear training, and music theory. When she teaches, Ms. Xiao aims to bring joy to the lesson and to help discover the uniqueness of each student.
As an artist, Ms. Jessa has given performances in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy and the U.S. She was winner of the Liszt-Honored Hong Kong International Piano Competition in 2014. In addition to classical music performances, she has lately been curating multi-media arts with local New York artists, including making premiere projects at different venues in New York.
