Wan-Ting Cheng



A native of Chongqing, China, Wanting Cheng began her artistic exploration with painting and piano lessons at the age of six. At the age of eleven, Ms. Cheng moved to Beijing in order to study with Professor Zhiwei Zhang at the Middle School affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music. Since 2013, she has been studying at the Manhattan School of Music on a full scholarship and is currently a second-year master’s student.

Ms. Cheng has won several prizes and awards including the Dora Zaslavsky-Koch Concerto Competition, the Mieczyslaw Munz Scholarship Competition, piano competition in the second China Changchun International Festival, and the Cadenza Cup National Piano Competition in China. Ms. Wan Ting enjoys teaching students of all ages and has taught piano both at various schools and privately. She is also the recipient of the Edith Kriss Scholarship and the Roy M. Rubenstein Award. Besides solo playing, she is also an avid chamber musician - her piano trio was twice selected as winners of the Lillian Fuchs Chamber Music Competition, in 2015 and 2016.
