Violinist Grace Kang Wollett has received her bachelor and master of music degrees from The Juilliard School, where she studied with Dr. Stephen Clapp. She was Dr. Clapp’s teaching assistant during the last two years of her studies, heading a scale/technique class in his studio. She has taught violin and viola to elementary school students at the Harlem Children Zone- Promise Academy II. In addition, she has been on the faculty of the Fine Arts Summer Academy in Nashville and has given master classes in Seoul and Incheon, South Korea.
Ms. Wollett began her violin studies at the age of eight in England. At the age of 13, she was accepted into the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Division and studied with Byung-Kook Kwak. In 2003, she won the first prize in the New York Music Competition and played at the Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall. In 2006, she was awarded the Samuel Gardner Prize and gave a recital in honor of the award, performing some of Gardner’s works. In 2009 and 2010, Ms. Wollett joined the Early Music Workshop at The Juilliard School and studied baroque violin with Cynthia Roberts. She currently is a member of the Solisti Ensemble, which made its debut in 2008 in the Merkin Concert Hall.
