Joanne Choi is a graduate of The Juilliard School, where she received a bachelor of music degree, and the Manhattan School of Music, where she received a master of music degree. She studied privately with Aldo Parisot, Darrett Adkins, and David Soyer and in master classes with Clive Greensmith, Laurence Lesser, Janos Starker, and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi. She has performed as soloist with orchestras such as the Queens Symphony and the New York Youth Symphony, with whom she made her Carnegie Hall debut. She has also performed as a member of the Honolulu Symphony, Spoleto Festival Orchestra USA, Pacific Music Festival Orchestra, and the Artosphere Festival Orchestra, among others. Ms. Choi is a regular freelancer in New York City and recently joined Trio Venia as a new member of the piano trio. She maintains a busy private studio in New York and is a registered Suzuki cello instructor. She has taught at Hunter College, Iolani School in Honolulu, and the Summer Youth Music School at the University of New Hampshire. |
