Peruvian-American Violinist Karen Cueva is currently pursuing her Master's degree at The Juilliard School where she recently earned her bachelor of music degree under the tutelage of Lewis Kaplan. She is a graduate of the Walnut Hill School for the Arts and New England Conservatory Preparatory School.
An advocate for arts education, Ms. Cueva was a founding performer of the Boston Crew, an arts education program that brought classical music to children through NPR’s From The Top radio show. She has performed as a teaching artist for Young Artists New Jersey, Boys and Girls Club of Washington, D.C. and has taught in Juilliard’s Music Advancement Program course CLIMB (Combining Literacy Instruction with Musical Beginnings). A recipient of Juilliard’s Arts Enrichment and Morse Teaching Artist Fellowships, Ms. Cueva has been enriching her zeal for teaching at the Harlem School of the Arts, George Jackson Academy, and City College Academy of the Arts. Ms. Cueva is currently on the faculty at Areté Music Academy and Opportunity Music Project.
