A native of Denville, New Jersey, guitarist Michael Donahue hadn’t begun serious study of the guitar until the age of 16. After rapid progress, he began his studies with Eliot Fisk at New England Conservatory where he received a bachelor of music degree in guitar performance. He recently graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a master of music degree, where he studied with Mark Delpriora and was a winner of the Joseph M. Smith scholarship for outstanding talent and academic achievement. Mr. Donahue has given solo and chamber recitals in both New York and Boston. Performance outreach has also been a passion for Mr. Donahue, who has performed in assisted living centers, hospitals, and libraries in Massachusetts and New Jersey.
In addition to having private studios in both Manhattan and New Jersey, Mr. Donahue is on the faculty of Camp MSM, Manhattan School of Music’s summer program for students between ages 11 and 17, as well as the Calderone School of Music, where he has been teaching classical, acoustic, electric guitar and music theory since 2008. |
