Noel Brennan, residing in Brooklyn, NY, is an active jazz musician and a dedicated music educator with fifteen years of teaching experience. Specialized in drumset, percussion instruments, and guitar, Mr. Brennan received his master’s degree in jazz studies from New York University and bachelor’s degree in classical percussion from University of Southern Maine. He served as adjunct faculty at New York University and has taught at music schools such as the River Tree Arts and The New York Academy of Music. In 2011, he started his own private studio in Brooklyn under the name of New York Percussion Academy teaching percussion instruments and guitar to students of all ages.
In addition to drumset and guitar, Mr. Brennan also teaches Indian percussion instrument tabla. At NYU he was appointed as an adjunct tabla faculty. He has studied Hindustani/Carnatic music with tabla guru such as Anindo Chatterjee and Vidwan Vasudeb Rao. He has traveled and lived in India where he took daily lessons from Gurujee as well as all-night concerts and sessions with local musicians.
