 Areté Music Academy offers beginner-level group classes for piano, violin, guitar, and voice. These group classes are an effective way to start learning a new instrument in a fun and interactive environment. Classes are small and include 30 or 45 minutes of instruction.
All programs include 10 classes per semester and available in the fall, winter, and spring semesters.

Piano for Beginners Ages 5+
This is a multi-level group piano program designed for young beginners. Grouped by levels and ages, students learn in an interactive environment with their peers and progress with an age-appropriate curriculum created by Juilliard teachers. A consultation meeting may be required if the student is registering for higher levels.
Violin for Beginners Ages 5+
This introductory group violin program provides a fun and interactive learning environment for young beginners. With an age-appropriate curriculum, classes emphasize on posture, pitches, rhythms and other basic musical concepts. Students must bring their own instrument.
Guitar for Beginners Ages 7+
This is an introductory class to guitar studies for young beginners. Students learn the fundamentals of music, including guitar techniques and music reading. Students must provide their own instrument.
Drums for Beginners Ages 5-7 & 8+
This introductory class offers hands-on experience for students to learn the basic techniques of drumming and rhythms and to explore different types of percussion instruments.
