Soprano Alexa Marie Fini, has just completed her Bachelor of Science in Classical Vocal Performance and Music Therapy at SUNY New Paltz, where she was also the recipient of the Barbara Hardgrave Voice Scholarship. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Music Therapy, and plans to obtain a Master's in Music Education as well.
Alexa Marie has been singing and playing piano since a very young age. She enjoys working with students of all ages and is thrilled to be a member of the Areté Academy faculty. Prior to working at Areté Academy, Alexa Marie taught privately, and performed in and directed a variety of shows. Past performances include roles in Hello, Dolly!, Legally Blonde, The Wild Party, Heathers, Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, and more. Additionally, just this past year, she performed in her very first opera, Dido and Aeneas in Greece.
Her teaching goals include sharing her passion and love of music, as well as furthering Areté's mission to inspire each student to reach their fullest potential. She finds that the best approach when teaching is to always stay positive and encouraging, and feels that she learns just as much from her students as they learn from her. She hopes to one day use her knowledge and experience to spread healing through music, by owning her own music therapy practice.
