Dr. Alice Ching-Jung Lu, a native of Taiwan, received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The Graduate Center, City University of New York. She also studied at The Juilliard School, where she received her master of music degree, and Manhattan School of Music. Dr. Lu has had more than 10 years of experience teaching piano to students of all ages and levels. She has prepared and coached more than half of her students for auditions and exams such as NYSSMA, ABRSM, and The Music Development Program. In addition to teaching at Areté Music Academy, she currently also serves on the piano faculty of Hunter College (CUNY), the Eastern School of Music, and The Piano School of NYC.
As a soloist, Dr. Lu has given performances at the Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall, the Merkin Concert Hall, the Taiwanese Assembly Hall and the LeFrak Concert Hall in New York City, the Huas der Musik in Vienna, the Puccini Concert Hall in Milan, the Irpinia International Music Festival in Napoli, and "Music Gardens" Festival in Warsaw, to name a few. She was a prize-winner at the 48th Kingsville International Piano Competition, the Taiwan National Music Competition, and the Taiwan National Youth Piano Competition.
