Cindy Snell discovered her love for music and performing at a very early age. Ms. Snell began her piano studies at the age of five under the tutelage of Akiko Hasunuma, who was head of the Music Teacher’s Association of California. She grew up performing in music festivals and competitions across California. She has also involved in musical theater productions as well as an award-winning show choir.
Ms. Cindy joined Arete Music Academy in fall 2014 as a piano and voice instructor as well as group instructor for the keyboard. Currently, she also teaches at CUNY College for Kids and iSchool for Music and Art. She has also taught in after-school music programs that introduced musical instruments to underprivileged children. With nearly 10 years of teaching experience, Ms. Cindy truly enjoys working with students of all ages and levels.
As a performing artist, Ms. Cindy can be seen performing as a member of the Broadway Community Chorus. She also often collaborates on stage with her sister, pianist Laura Yumi Snell, in venues across New York City. Ms. Cindy received her bachelor’s degree in education and studio arts from the University of California, Irvine.
