Born in South Korea, pianist, and violinist Jeongwoo Kho received her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from Manhattan School of Music, and her Masters of Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Ms. Kho began her musical studies at a very young age, and has more than 10 years of experience teaching both private and classroom lessons on piano and violin. Prior to joining the Arete Academy faculty, Ms. Kho was a piano instructor at Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School, and is currently student teaching at The Equity Project School in Inwood, New York, where she teaches band music and theory. She hopes to provide students with lessons that they find meaningful for both the creation and performance of music.
Ms. Kho has won numerous awards including state and regional competitions of solo and concerto events. She has also performed in the Dominican Republic as a concerto soloist. Her mission as a performer and teacher is to spread her passion for music as well as to enlighten students to engage and adapt in music. She hopes to create a learning environment for all of her students, that provides the freedom for imagining possibilities in sound and vision.
