A native of Denville, New Jersey, guitarist Michael Donahue began his formal study of guitar at the age of 16. After rapid progress, he began his studies with Eliot Fisk at New England Conservatory where he received a bachelor of music degree in guitar performance. He graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a master of music degree, where he studied with Mark Delpriora and was a winner of the Joseph M. Smith scholarship for outstanding talent and academic achievement. Mr. Donahue has performed as a soloist, an accompanist, and chamber musician in Boston, Manhattan, and throughout New Jersey.
Mr. Donahue joined the faculty of Arete Music Academy in 2011. In addition to having his own guitar studio in Chatham, NJ, he is the classical guitar instructor at Camp MSM, Manhattan School of Music’s summer program for students between ages 11 and 17. He also teaches at The Mason Gross School of the Performing Arts - Extension Division, where he teaches introductory to college preparatory guitar.
